ALL Practices are at the Warren County Pool
Centrally located for all county high schools, the eight lane 25-yard pool is capable of holding swimming and diving competitions with spectator areas on the deck to accommodate 500 people.

BLUE/RED- “Comfort Phase”
- Swimmers getting comfortable in water
- Focus on Streamline
- Focus on proper kicking
- Focus on Backstroke and Freestyle technique
- Paying attention, comprehension, & listening skills
- Suggest (3) practices per week
- Criteria to advance to Bronze group
- Physical endurance, being able to swim without stopping for breaks
- Proper Technique in Backstroke and Freestyle
- Listening to coaches
- Performing repeat 25′s freestyle & backstroke

Bronze Group- “Challenge Phase”
- Swimmers are introduced to more challenges in practice
- Introduced to racing against one another
- Introduced to Drills for all 4 strokes
- Introduced to multiple laps of swimming
- Introduced to basic rules of Swim Meets
- Suggest (3) practices per week
- Criteria to advance to Silver Group
- Being able to repeat 50′s freestyle
- Proficient Racing Dive
- Stroke Technique for 100 IM

Silver Group- “Practice Phase”
- Learning about practice routines and what is expected of them at practice
- Introduced to more conditioning in practice
- More Individual Medley swimming
- Sharpening understanding of rules and regulations of swim meets
- Introduced to more complex Drills
- Training Focus- 100 Free & 100 IM
- Suggest (4) practices per week
- Criteria to advance to Gold Group
- Performing consistently in practice on a regular basis
- Being able to repeat 100′s freestyle
- Having proficient Starts & Turns
- Meet Participation

Gold Group- “Training Phase”
- Introduced to interval training
- Learn process of goal setting
- Responsible for pre-practice routines (ex. stretching, sit-ups, water bottle)
- Introduced to Dryland
- Increased distance and intensity in training
- Training Focus- 200 & 500 Free, 200 IM
- Suggest (5) practices per week
- Criteria to advance to Senior Group
- Invitation Only

Senior Group- “Responsibility Phase”
- Expected to have consistent practice attendance and work ethic
- Expected to swim tougher events in meets 500/1000 Free, 200/400 IM, and 200′s stroke
- Monitor individual training more carefully(it becomes own responsibility)
- Introduced to dryland training and weights/conditioning
- Introduced to resistance training equipment- (Parachutes, Paddles, Tubes, Snorkel)
- Introduced to resting before championship meets or “taper training”
- Training Focus- 500, 1000, 1650 Free & 200, 400 IM
- Suggest (6-8) practices per weekh
